Breathing new life into your garden
Gardeners Louise and Emilie met while studying with the RHS and their mutual views about horticulture, greener living, sustainable gardening and their overlapping garden design tastes set them on a path to work together as
The Garden Whisperers, offering a variety of garden services including garden maintenance and design.
Louise has always wanted to work in a way that helps and improves the lives of others. She decided to become a gardener and horticulturalist so that she can share with others the benefits that having your own little slice of nature can bring to your life.

Louise has always wanted to work in a way that helps and improves the lives of others. She decided to become a gardener and horticulturalist so that she can share with others the benefits that having your own little slice of nature can bring to your life.
Louise's time working within the historic gardens at Knebworth House and the private, domestic gardens of the arts and crafts inspired Letchworth Garden City houses mean that she understands the importance of nurturing good health in mature gardens while maintaining the integrity of a period design era and the skills to keep it contemporary and relevant.
She shares with Emilie the opinion that it is not necessary nor sustainable to strip a space of all vegetation (and wildlife) in order to create a stylish, unique and personal garden and that it is far wiser to identify plants to keep and items for re-use and recycling - creating a bespoke garden that is both beautiful and beneficial to all.
Her gardening heroes include gardener and writer Sarah Raven. Loving cutting gardens abundant with dahlias and blooms for popping in jugs and vases.

With the passion for plants that she shares with Louise and love of art and nature, Emilie combines decorative vintage features and vibrant flower borders to create beautiful scenes for the benefit of all creatures, great and small.
The sleeping beauty that was and is now known as
The Lost Gardens of Heligan have been a place of constant inspiration since Emilie first visited in the early 90's. She feels immensely privileged to now be a life-long member there, along with her family - a gift from her horticultural heroine Candy Smit, Director, Archivist and one of the founders of the gardens.
The photographs on this website are taken by Emilie and her daughter Molly. They feature gardens that she and Louise have worked on, as well as their own gardens and ones which they have visited and want to share with you.

We have a network of horticultural associates and contractors who we can bring into a project when further expertise is required such as hard landscapers. We also work with specialist plant growers in order to create diverse plantings that are out of the ordinary.
A wealth of expert knowledge available to you with the reassurance of having The Garden Whisperers hold your hand through the project in place.
We want to help you unlock the potential of your garden! Unleash the growing power of your external living space in ways that benefit you and all the many visitors to your garden be them friends, family or vital pollinators and the local wildlife.
We will breath new life into neglected areas so that when you look out at your garden, you are drawn outdoors to enjoy all the positivity a green space has to offer you. We will enhance and revive tired beds with pops of interest for beautiful displays through the seasons. Providing scent or flowers for cutting. Plant perfect containers and pots brimming with texture and colour.
With experience and RHS skills we can bring balance and unity to your garden, with year-round interest and plenty of impact, using our knowledge around plants and styles of garden. Whether it's rejuvenating a small troublesome border, working from a blank canvas or bringing a garden back to life, The Garden Whisperers can achieve your garden dreams for you.
With several years experience maintaining traditional, period and modern gardens, we are also qualified at RHS Level 2 and RHS Level 3. These qualifications cover garden assessment, surveying, planning and design and construction as well as plant growth, maintenance, cultivation and propagation in RHS theory and practical at the National Trust's Wimpole Hall and Shuttleworth College walled garden at Old Walden, part of the grounds of The Swiss Garden and Shuttleworth Collection.
Fortunate enough to have studied under the tuition of Paul Labous an expert in horticulture with a specialism for cultivating fruit trees. Paul headed up the heritage project to preserve the ancient Cubbington Pear tree, felled as part of the HS2 development and more recently worked with residents of Wavendon House and students (including us!) at Shuttleworth College in order to graft pears from a recently discovered, ornate, Pear arbor, within their renovated walled garden.
The Garden Whisperers pay special attention to the details of every project to ensure the complete satisfaction of each client. Our goal is to enhance your garden space in a sustainable way, improve the enjoyment of your space, share our knowledge but above all create beautiful gardens full of healthy plants that are bursting with life and in turn, improve mental wellbeing and the biodiversity of your outdoor living space. With the added bonus that great gardens raise property value!
Your satisfaction is our priority and we strive to provide a service we are proud of. We start every project by providing a thorough consultation to understand your goals and the needs of the project. We do this to guarantee that the project is completed according to your preferences. We will remain in communication with you throughout any project to be sure that we stay on track and fulfil your brief.
